Happy Baby

Well, I've successfully made it through almost 2 1/2 weeks back at work, and I've only had one major breakdown...pretty good if I do say so myself :) Having Brad leave with Avery every morning to drop her off at either Nana's or my moms hasn't gotten much easier, but my favorite part of the day is going to pick her up...especially since she can smile in reaction to you now!!!

Avery's had a cold, and come to find out an ear infection, but the doctor finally gave us some medicine to break up her terrible cough and heal her ear infection last Thursday, after going an entire week without any because they thought the cold would just clear up on it's own. Thankfully the medicine has done wonders for her and she's back to being a happy little observant baby. She's not coughing at all like she was and her congestion has cleared up so much! She's staying awake so much longer these days and instead of her being frustrated because she can't breathe she just looks around and laughs....cutest thing ever :)

Night time has been going well too. She usually takes her last bottle around 10:00PM or 10:30PM and then is asleep around 11:00PM and sleeps through the night until around 6:30AM or 7:00AM! Last night was a treat because she was sound asleep by 10:30PM and so was I :) We're also lucky that she's such a sound sleeper. Not much can disturb her while she's asleep. I hope that continues for many years to come ::fingers crossed:: Below is a cute picture of how she fell sleep on our bed one afternoon...she loves to stretch out!

Other than working and being a mommy, things are getting into full gear for Steph's wedding! Her bridal shower was a few saturday's ago, and she has a stock the bar shower, and a lunchen to go before the Bachelorette Party, which I am very much looking forward to! Time is moving quickly, which means I don't have that much longer to look good in that bridesmaid dress...yikes! I am, however, super excited for the wedding, should be a fun night out with Bradley :)

Speaking of Brad, he found out last week that once his training is over, which is coming up next week, that he will be placed at the Mall of Georgia store! Great news for us, since where Avery stays during the day is on the way...shew...I was worried we'd be driving all over the place to get Avery to and from where she needed to be and then us both getting to work and from work.

Soon it'll be time for Avery's 3 month pictures, so I'll HOPEFULLY have some new adorable ones to share :) I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Love,
LG

Back to Work

2 months already! I can't believe how quickly my maternity leave went by. Yesterday was my first day back to work and it went pretty smoothly. I was a little nervous about leaving Avery with Nana because she has been very congested since Saturday and she gets a little frustrated when she's having a hard time breathing, so I didn't want Nana to have a hard time with her. Fortunately for Nana, Avery and I both only slept a total of 2 hours Sunday night so Avery was exhausted and slept most of the day.

She did a little better last night, but I know how much more congested you feel when you lay on your back and poor Avery has the hardest time when you go to lay her down. We also woke up and were a little concerned that she is developing pink eye :( I called the pediatric nurse and she said since Avery's 2 month appointment is tomorrow than to just place a warm compress over her eye several times today and they will see how it looks tomorrow. So today she is spending the day with my mom.

I'm so thankful that Brad doesn't have to be at work until 4 PM tomorrow, so he can take her to her appointment. Tomorrow starts vaccinations and I don't want to be there when they give her a shot. Speaking of Brad and working, we are both loving his new job. Although he's still in training and we won't know his schedule or location, for that matter, for a few more weeks, I quite enjoy us getting up together in the mornings and getting to go to bed together 6 nights a week. We've never had that before. With him in the restaurant industry he does have some crazy hours sometimes, but right now I love that he is only closing 1 night a week and besides Monday morning we are up together. Maybe one day we'll have weekends off together, but I'm not holding my breath :)

Avery is becoming so much more aware of her surroundings and is starting to interact with people a lot more. She will smile and laugh in response to you, as opposed to just randomly...although, she's still doing that too. Below is a pic of her this past weekend...it's one of my favorites and makes me smile every time I look at it :)

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Growing too quickly

I can't believe that Avery is 7 weeks old today...time goes by way too quickly, and I'm super sad to have to return to work the Monday after next. I'm not ready yet...truth is...I doubt I'll ever be ready to go back to work. I've so enjoyed being able to be at home everyday with Avery and having the time to see everyone whenever I want. I know that my mom and nana, however, will enjoy their time with her as she will alternate staying with them. Below are some pictures...most of them from the ones we had made at Sears.

She loves to sit up on the couch like a big girl

Happy baby :)
